But I'm not the type of person to bank my hopes on a false entity.
Kiko thought, stepping inside the temple. And, to an extent, she wasn't. When she was younger, she gave her hope to her older brother, who was there, and who tried his hardest to complete both their dreams. And as she got older, and as her brother went away, she put her hope on the people around her, and on the one being that would help her, the most.
But I'm still here. I'm here, and I don't know why.
"I'm bored." Mitsukai decided to put in her two cents, knocking Kiko out of her thoughts. Giving a weary sort of sigh, Kiko turned around and gave Mitsukai a worn-down sort of smile, which had the neko chara feeling bad for a second.
"We'll go do something fun when I'm done here, okay?" Kiko promised, and stepped further in the love temple. It was the start of a new year(she went by the american year system, because the chinese one was too complicated), and it was time to make a new year's resolution.
"I..." Kiko started off, fiddling with the hem of her pink cashmere sweater. She was getting older, and the lolita theme, which was cute, was starting to lose it's effect on her, which meant it was time to change her look. Kiko was wearing a white, short sleeved blouse, a khaki, plaid mini-skirt, suede, beige boots that went half-way up her shins, and of course, her hot pink cashmere sweater. In her long black hair was a pink ribbon acting as a head-band, and she also had white knee-high socks on, under her boots.
If she could be egotistical for a second, she would have to admit, she looked pretty darned cute.
Back to the matter at hand, Kiko clapsed her hands in front of her, and brought them both to her lips, in a prayer-ish manner.
"I...want things to stay the same." Kiko murmured, thinking of her growing friend base, of her love with Shouta, of her growing confidence, and of Mitsukai, who with out a doubt, was one of her best friends. "And....I want things to change." Kiko said, after a pause, thinking of Hotaru, her brother, who she still hadn't managed to bring back, of Ima, who went to the darkside with all the wrong and right reasons, and of her father, who would never really take notice of her.
Mitsukai was exploring the inside of the temple, so that Kiko could focuse on her wish, so neither of them heard the incoming footsteps.
