Two pairs of panicked blood red eyes darted around nervously, as the bigger body raised her arm, her weapon clutched tightly in her hand.
"Mit-yan, do you...sense anything?" Kiko asked, clutching her lazer tag gun tighter, as she sprang into a nearby bush, her black cat ears sticking up. Mitsukai shook her head.
"No. I don't smell them, either, so I'm guessing we're safe...For now." Mitsukai said a little too loudly, only to be rebuked by an wound up Kiko.
Why all the stress? One word.
Shouta.
Kiko had somehow managed to convince the carrot top to a game of lazer tag, and darn it, he was winning. 10-4. It wasn't all that much of a shock, but Kiko was determined to at least get to 5 before admitting defeat. Which meant tight defenses and a character change.
Even as Kiko hid behind the bush, she knew she was doomed.

Two silhouetted figures leisurely strolled through the dimly lit outdoor laser tag arena without much worry or care about the competition around them. Most had already given up, while others were certainly playing, though they knew better than to make a move on Shouta – the laser tag king.
With his weapon resting on the blade of his right shoulder and his left hand shoved deep into the crevices of his pant pocket, the orange hair boy continued his hunt for the girl dubbed Kiko. If he could reach the fifteen mark before she could mange to reach five points, he would win their little bet and soon, would be on his own way without having to worry about her interrupting another one of his nights with her bizarre ideas of fun. Too bad she had chosen the game of laser tag as the center of their bet – he never lost. Ever. If it had been anything else like swimming or tree climbing, she would have beaten him hands down, especially with her chara.
But that was not the case. It was laser tag and he would win and she would not. Simple as that.
“Ne, Mit-chaaan, where are you?” The sound of the fox’s voice echoed throughout the hollow arena, a teasing tone of voice indicated that he too, was not worried about current events.
The carrot top sighed, shifting his bored gaze towards Ryuu. “Will you shut up? You’re the reason why everyone is able to find me. You’re so loud, Ryuu.”
The fox shrugged. “Then maybe they’ll come out sooner.” He replied, this time his voice lowering several notches.
“Mit-chaaaan!”

Mitsukai hissed, surprised at how close they both had gotten. The fact that Ryuu was kind of taunting them was also a factor in the hiss-o-meter. The neko sniffed in delicately, and there were traces of Ryuu's and Shouta's scents near by. Ugh. Mitsukai hissed again, but this time, Kiko's hand whipped out and covered her mouth and half of her body. It was time to relocate once again. Kiko launched herself silently from behind her hiding place and started running to a rather large tree, bent on hiding herself in the leaves and branches.
"Be quiet!" Kiko whispered, running away. Mitsukai nodded, or tried to nod.
Kiko really was being stubborn about losing this bet. She blushed red, realizing she didn't want to give up her time with Shouta. Kiko reached the base of the large leafy tree; letting go of Mitsukai and shoving her lazer tag gun in her pocket, Kiko sprang up, grabbing the lowest branch and climbing up into it with careful ease.
"You luuuurrrrrvvveee him! Mitsukai teased once Kiko was safely perched on a thick branch. Kiko blushed brighter, her face a bright red beacon.
"Not now, Mitsukai." Kiko muttered, embarrassed, as she removed her weapon from her pocket, blood red eyes scanning the ground below.

The sound of leaves rubbing next to each other immediately caught his attention. It had been a small noise, one that most people would quickly write off as wind blowing through the tree’s leaves, but Shouta knew better. He always did.
Though his face showed nothing that could possibly betray him, quick thoughts rushed through his head; calculating the best possible way in getting five more tags. So far, Kiko had made the biggest mistake; unintentionally revealing her location. The element of surprise was a precious asset and losing it so soon was not good; especially for someone like her.
Shouldering the gun, the boy turned and began walking in the opposite direction of the tree. “Come on Ryuu, they’re not here.”
The chara frowned. “But –“
“Let’s go.” His tone was firm; leaving no room what so ever to argue.
The chara shrugged and followed his owner. No, Shouta wasn’t going easier on the pathetic girl – quite the opposite actually.
Hidden behind bushes and a vast array of vegetation, here was a secret path that would lead him right to the unsuspecting girl’s ultimate demise.

She had held her breath and had once again covered Mitsukai's mouth; Shouta had all but caught her. Releasing her breath and Mitsukai, Kiko considered her next move. She could...a) Stay in the tree and wait or b) Launch herself out the tree and run away, again.
Oh, the choices. Mitsukai waited, watching with wide, bloodred eyes. Kiko smiled at her, and swung her legs over the branch, preparing her descent. Mitsukai opened her mouth to protest Kiko's way of getting down, but Kiko was already falling, rather dangerously and recklessly toward the ground. The neko chara let out a squeak of fear as Kiko reached the ground, but it was unnessecary(sp?). The raven, had, very much like a cat, landed with her feet firmly planted on the ground.
Looking around, with her weapon securely in her hand, Kiko unknowingly walking into her demise.

The precise moment that Shouta suddenly appeared behind Kiko was undetermined - for his appearance was like a ghost appearing in the dead of night. Silent and unexpected. Slyly, he wrapped his free arm around the raven’s neck while using his other to position his gun so that the barrel was touching the tip of her ear – pretending that the plastic toy could actually blow the girl’s brains out on his slightest whim.
”Do you give up yet, Chibi-chan?” He slowly whispered into her ear as a small smirk adorned his once bored features. The game was ending and he, as usual, would emerge as the victor.

A surprised squeak made it's escape from Kiko's rather full lips. Shouta's sudden materialization had scared the living daylights out of her, but the fear erased when he wrapped his arm around her neck, just to be replaced by her fluttery infatuation . And so, in response to his closeness, the blood once again rushed up to her face, causing her to blush bright red, and for her heart to pound a more rapid and more pronounced beat.
”Do you give up yet, Chibi-chan?”
Just as quickly as her infatuation came, it left, leaving a slightly flustered Kiko. Shouta's words had completely destroyed her romantic feelings(momentarily), and left behind her anger and reluctence to lose.
"No. How about you, Korafu-kun?" Kiko said, and quickly, her arm shot up, gun in hand. The raven had the gun positioned under Shouta's chin.
If he shot her, she shot him; Kiko was not losing that easily.

A small chuckle rumbled from the depths of his throat, rippling all the way down to his broad chest. The girl actually thought she had a chance. His hand, which had presently been resting on the raven back neck, now inched up to her face – tracing each line and shape with such calmness and leisure that it surprised even himself; though he did well to hide this emotion.
” No, I think not, but,” His free hand gently pulled the gun away from his chin, leaving his palm to completely cover the once open barrel,”why are you so intent of winning, even though you know,” At this point, his chin was now resting comfortably on top of Kiko’s head as white lids covered the deep orange pools that were his eyes. ”that I will win.
--- As the two were immersed in their own world, the real one was still going on. And right now, in the real world, the game of laser tag had ended – the many players departed with one another and the janitorial services began to clean up the messes they left. The staff began clocking themselves out and the manager was to follow soon after.
And with one last sweep of his brown eyes, the balding manager quickly locked up and departed in his car – his headlights only a speck over the horizon
And just like that, the two were trapped.

Once again, Kiko's heart started pounding the very familiar and broken beat. It was so loud, the raven was sure the object of her affections could hear it. Her pale face was once again stained the embarrassed, bright red. Letting her weapon to be knocked away, Kiko tried to get her now muddled thoughts back in order.
"I- I, um...A-Ah!"
Kiko's explanations were cut short as Shouta started tracing the thin planes of her face. Letting out a small sigh, Kiko melted back into his warmth, pale lids covering the warm, honey-gold eyes associated with the name 'Hirogawa'.
"I..I think you know the answer to your own question, Shouta. If you think about it, the obvious answer will probably jump out at you." Kiko whispered. This situation was what Kiko had wanted for a long time. A situation that demanded that Kiko tell Shouta her feelings.
And now that the situation had finally arised, Kiko could only give him vague hints of her infatuation.
Mitsukai felt like a pervert. Seated on a branch high above them, with her cheeks stained a faint pink, watching the rather intimate scene below, how could the neko chara not feel like a perv?
A small peice of her brain noted that the arena had in fact gotten quieter, and more desolte, but Mitsukai couldn't really bear to interrupt.

“Hn”
In reality, Ayazawa Shouta had no idea what he was talking about himself. For deep inside, he knew that the raven was merely not a friend; but then again, the feeling he associated with her was not something he understood either. Compassion, love, like; all those feelings were foreign to him – things he had never been able to receive and comprehend on his own. Feelings he was not even positive that he would be able to return properly.
His hand now slide gracefully down the raven’s slim body until it was sitting, palm down, right above her boobs. The irregular heartbeats were unmistakable and the meanings derived from them were impossible to miss. And yet…
”Ah, I do understand but why?” The plastic gun that was held tightly in his hand slowly fell until it was lying limply by his side. ”I am an unloved bastard. I’m unwanted.”
--- Ryuu turned, his nose wrinkled in annoyance. This scene was too disgusting for him to watch.
”Will you stop staring? He said in a bored tone as he caught the cat chara intently staring. ”People will get the impression that you’re a pervert if you do that.”

Kiko's heart pounded faster than before; the poor thing was ready to jump out of the raven's body. It was hard for Kiko to believe that one person could cause this reaction to arise in her, but as unbelievable as it was, it was happening. She had it bad for him, and he knew, it, now.
A small part of her was scared, because the chance of being rejected was still there, and Kiko was very sure that she wouldn't be able to survive if Shouta rejected her. But that fear disappeared very quickly as Shouta's had slid down her body and over her heart; it pounded at an incredable speed.
”Ah, I do understand but why? I am an unloved bastard. I’m unwanted.”
Kiko opened her mouth to protest, but all that came out was a little squeak. Trying again, Kiko knocked his hand away, so she could think and speak properly.
"I-I barely understand myself! It took me forever to come to the conclusion that I lo-! That I care for you as more than a friend!" Kiko confessed, tomato red. It had tooken her a long time to realize her feelings, and an even longer time for her to admit them to herself. Taking a shakey breath, Kiko turned around and took a step back, leaning her head back so she coud see his face properly; she had to see his reaction when she answered his last two sentences.
"I don't believe what you say you are, Shouta. You're everything but a bastard! You're kind, and even though you might not see it, you're caring! You have so many good qualities, Shouta, it's unbelievable." Kiko protested, her high voice shakey and rough. Taking another deep breath, Kiko prepared herself for what she would say next. "And you're not unwanted, because I want you! And you're not unloved, either! Because...I love you! Okay?! I love you, Shouta!" Kiko confessed, and if it was possible, she blushed deeper. The urge, no, the need to avert her gaze was great, but Kiko forced her wide, honey-gold eyes on his face, because she had just given Shouta her heart. It was up to him now, to either accept it or to destroy it.
"I love you."
"KYAAAA!!" At the moment, Mitsukai didn't care that Ryuu had accused her of being a pervert. In fact, Ryuu became the first victim of Mitsukai's glee. Grabbing his hands and spinning the fox chara around, Mitsukai was hysterical. Kiko had finally opened up without her help, and that was the cause for all the madness. After a few good spins and a few shouts of "SHE FINALLY SAID IT!" and "KYAAAA!", it occured to Mitsukai that Kiko wasn't out of the woods, yet. Releasing Ryuu, Mitsukai went back to observing the two down below.

For several moments, the only sound sifting between the two was their rhythmatic breathing along with the whistling of winds playing softly in the background. Unlike the many confession scenes he had witnessed on rooftops and TV shows all through his life, this one held a completely different atmosphere. First off, the impression that the man was supposed to be totally nonchalant about the whole confession and take the girl under his care like it was nothing; completely fake. Shouta was literally freaking out on the inside – he had no idea how to stop the rapid beating of his heart. The only graceful part about it was that his face remained as apathetic as ever without even the slightest tint of a blush. Yet.
Second, confessions were supposed to be romantic and everything, but right now, it was anything but. They were both decked in heavy laser tag gear, in the middle of an artificial forest. Not only that, but they were also hot and sweaty from running and naturally attracted bugs of all sorts onto themselves. Oh yeah, it was just the ideal of romance. Not.
Nevertheless, Shouta would have never traded this moment for anything else. Because right now, despite the bugs and his rapidly beating heart, he was happy. So happy that he was surprised that he had not yet started glowing with it or maybe he had and just didn’t notice yet.
He bent down, brushing a strand of loose hair away from the raven’s face. ”But you know, love does crazy things to people like me. So you better not regret your attraction for me because,” He said in a light voice as his orange eyes met those of honey; a large wolfish smile appeared onto his features. “I may never let you go.”
Cupping her small face with his hands, the carrot top slowly leaned in for a kiss. It was a soft one of course for he feared that if he was to let his male instincts go wild on the girl, he may scare off the only person that cared for him besides his mother.
----
”Ugh, I think I’m going to hurl.” The fox said with a roll of his eyes. Leave it to Shouta to find a woman before he did. Jeez….
By this point, Ryuu had noticed that the place had gotten quite quiet. Too quite for his own liking. ”Ne Mit-chan, is it me or does this place seem …. lonely?” His yellow eyes shifted towards the area surrounding them. It had been about ten minutes now and yet, no random person had yet appeared out of the foliage to claim victory on Shouta while he was preoccupied. The only answer could be ….
The fox chara literally felt his heart skip a beat as the information dawned upon him.
”We’re locked in.”
(Wow... so much fluff. XDD)

As the first few silent seconds dragged on, it occured to Kiko that maybe this was his response to her confession. The small raven felt her heart stop as she looked up Shouta's rather apathetic expression. She wished that the time could redo itself, so that she could've spared herself of the pain that accompanied the silence that was mistaken as a rejection. Unwillingly and unknowingly, her eyes moistened. "N...Sh-"”But you know, love does crazy things to people like me. So you better not regret your attraction for me because, I may never let you go.”Kiko blinked at Shouta, and she felt her heart start up once again, only to speed up to an unbelievable tempo. She had jumped to conclusions; the silence wasn't a rejection, it was an acceptance. "No! Never! I'll never regre-!"Kiko's sentance was abruptly cut off as Shouta's hands once again found her face. Her heart stuttered; he was leaning down... And then, his lips made contact with hers. A wild gasp, and Kiko cursed her fate. Her height had never affected her before, she never internally cursed her shortness. But now, the raven did. So, she stood on tip-toe, and she wrapped her skinny arms around his neck, locking him there as Kiko took it upon herself to deepen the kiss. Shouta was holding back, and Kiko wasn't having that. "KYAAA!" Mitsukai made a mental note to mark this day down, as she danced around. She was happy beyond belief, almost to that point where she almost ignored the crucial information Ryuu just provided. Almost, but not quite. Stopping in mid-dance step, Mitsukai turned her bloodred gaze to Ryuu. "Uh...Hunh?" The neko chara blinked, dislodging cinnamon colored bangs from wide deep red eyes. "We're...locked in?" Mitsukai repeated, dumbfounded... Data downloading"NANI?!!!!"Data installed[-dies- worstest post eva. >.<]

Crystal green eyes rolled in response to the cat’s obvious idiotic manner towards their situation. Though it was completely typical of her, he had yet to be unamazed with anything she did. Everything she did surprised him somehow.
”I know this is a bad time to ruin this oh so touching moment, but,” Ryuu said to the two making out under him; completely ignoring Mitsukai’s screaming as well. ”we are locked in.”
--- He could fell his annoying chara floating above his head. Not only was he merely too close to their make out bubble, but he had to be talking too. What a mood killer.
Shouta’s response ended up being a small flick of his wrist, indicating that he and Kiko were to be left alone; despite the situation. A few minutes passed, in which the carrot top had gained dominance in their deep kiss; shown especially in how the girl was now up against a tree while he hungrily devoured her. However, the bliss did not last long, for soon, he felt the brush of fur on his cheek. Their time was up.
Reluctantly, he pulled away, taking in deep breathes of her as he did. In movies they never showed you how freakin tired you would get after kissing for a long time. Someone needed to make an accurate account of what actually happened when one was confessed to and what happened when you kissed for long periods of time. It would be so much more useful than any dumb old, inaccurate movie
”What?” He managed to pant in between breathes.
The red fox merely replied by waving a bushy tail in the general direction of the screaming cat chara with an amused yet frightened look gleaming in his eyes.
[This went absolutely nowhere. >.<’ Sorry, I’m so brain dead so excuse this bad post.]

Mitsukai whirled around, flailing her arms around and screaming, shouting more to get to the attention of the heated make out session down below than for her own personal greivance. But her screams ended up ignored by pretty much everyone.
Mitsukai wasn't one to be ignored. As Ryuu tried to get the attention of both humans down below, 'Mit-yan' floated down near Kiko's ear.
"KIKO-CHAN!!!" Mitsukai shrieked.
Kiko's reaction to being interrupted was very much like Shouta's. Unwinding one of her arms from Shouta's neck, she batted her hand at Mitsukai, much like a person might do when a pesky bug was buzzing in their ear. This stopped Mitsukai's screaming for a bit, and Kiko rewound her arm back around Shouta. The kiss deepened, just like the raven had wanted, and soon, Kiko was gasping for air. Shouta was making it very hard to think, in a very, very wonderful way, and she was soon lost as to her surroundings.
But she felt someone pulling on a strand of her hair, and she knew that Mitsukai had gotten impatient. She felt Shouta pulling away, and instinctively, she followed, removing her arms from his neck and then rewrapping them around his waist; Kiko felt like any physical seperation from Shouta now might destroy her. She was breathing heavily, her lungs working over-time, and she was...well, tired. In that melty, 'my limbs aren't working properly' way.
And so, Kiko melted against Shouta's chest, not really able to hold herself up. Looking at her (at the moment) annoying chara, Kiko sighed. "What is it, Mit-yan?" Kiko managed to say, taking deep gulps of air in between words.
Mitsukai pushed her bangs out of her eyes. "We're locked in!!!" Mitsukai shouted, and Kiko blinked at her.
"And?" Kiko said lazily, while her mind worked to solidify itself enough for the fact to register.
